Create a task
In a project, press ⌘N or choose New Task for the full editor. For a simple task, type into Quick task in the Tasks tab and press Return. Give the task an actionable title. Open it to edit Status, Priority and Assignee.
Set placement and planning fields
Select Stage and Component where appropriate. Enable the Due date and choose it; set an Estimate in the displayed hour increments. Enter comma-separated tags and add notes, then click Save. Revert discards unsaved inspector-field changes.
Break work into subtasks
In Task Inspector → Subtasks, click Add Subtask, complete the editor and Create. Click a child title to inspect it or use its completion control. You can also select a Parent task in Placement. Avoid estimating the same work on both a parent and all its children, because estimates contribute individually to financial planning.
Record dependencies
Use Dependencies to select other tasks in the project that this task depends on, then Save. Invalid or cyclic relationships are rejected. Dependencies document ordering; the app does not automatically shift dates or provide a critical-path scheduler.
Add context and finish
Use Add Comment to save a dated comment, and Attachments → Add Attachments to link supporting files. Start Task Timer to record task-specific effort. Stop the timer and set Status to Done when complete. Save inspector-field edits before selecting another task or closing the inspector.
