Create the component
Open Components → New Component. Enter a name, choose Type and Status, and optionally assign a Stage. Set planned dates and a due date where useful. Available fields vary by type: social channels and campaigns have commercial or channel-specific options.
Check its folder path
Review Relative path in the Folder section, or use Use Suggested Path. Use a relative path inside the project, not an absolute path or a path containing parent-directory traversal. Save, then check the linked folder through Files or Finder.
Assign the work
Create tasks from the project’s Tasks tab or toolbar. In each task inspector, select the Component under Placement and Save. Return to the component to see its task list. A component may have a stage, but you should review task placement explicitly.
Review and finish the component
Select a component to inspect its tasks, schedule and any type-specific metrics. Edit it to update status. Deleting it preserves its tasks as No component and leaves documents on disk; confirm only after reviewing its financial and folder links.
